Library Rules

The following rules and regulations must be maintained in the library premises. The students are advised to go through these rules before using the library.

  1. DIT library is a closed access library, i.e. students are not permitted to enter inside the stack room.
  2. Library remains open from 10.20 am to 05:20 pm on every working day
  3. Silence must be maintained inside the library. Chatting or gossiping and loitering in the library are strictly prohibited.
  4. Library Membership is open to

    Membership Registration
    • • For the student:

      Two library cards will be issued to the students, reading card and lending card. New user has to collect the membership form available at Library Counter and submit it along with 3 copies stamp size photograph.

    • • For the Faculty:

      New User has to submit the permission letter, duly forwarded by Principal Sir.

  5. Two stamp size colour photographs must be pasted on each library card without which the cards will not be valid.
  6. Books and other documents will be issued to the students for lending or reading purpose on producing respective library cards. No books will be issued to them without proper library cards.
  7. In case of loss of library cards duplicate cards will be issued against informing letter to The Registrar along with a fine of Rs. 50/-.
  8. Borrowing Privileges:

    3 Students(B.Tech) Book Bank 6 Up to semester exam
    Lending Card 2 Fifteen days and to be renewed thereafter
  9. Books should be returned or renewed within the stipulated date otherwise a fine of Re. 2/- will be imposed on the students per day for each book till the return of the book.
  10. If the book is lost or damaged or mutilated after lending from the library, the last borrower of the book will be held responsible.
  11. Students are directed not to write anything inside the books taken from the library.
  12. Students must not leave any book, borrowed for reading or lending purpose, on the reading desks. They must submit the books in the circulation counter before leaving the library.
  13. Books issued on reading cards cannot be taken home. If found, a fine of Rs. 2/- will be imposed on the student per book per day till the submission of the book. 14. Mobile phones should be kept in silent mode inside the reading room. Attending phone calls inside the reading room is strictly prohibited.
  14. Playing songs or movies or videos in laptops / mobiles / ipods etc. in the library is strictly prohibited.
  15. An outgoing student must submit books and other documents taken from the library in order to obtain a library clearance certificate.
