Pre-Requisites:- Industrial Automation and Control (PE-EE 801 D) and Sensors and Transducers (OE-EE 801-D).
Objective:
The Industrial Instrumentation Laboratory is designed to provide hands-on experience to students in the field of industrial automation, control systems, and sensor technologies. The objective is to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications of Industrial Automation and Control (PE-EE 801 D) and Sensors and Transducers (OE-EE 801 D). The outcome of this laboratory is to make students industry-ready with a deep understanding of instrumentation used in modern industries.
Course Description:
This laboratory course is a practical extension of the theoretical subjects Industrial Automation and Control (PE-EE 801 D) and Sensors and Transducers (OE-EE 801 D). It covers a range of experiments and projects aimed at familiarizing students with industrial instruments, automation techniques, control systems, and sensor applications.
Benefits:
- Industry Readiness: Upon completion, students will be equipped with practical skills highly sought after by industries in the field of automation and control.
- Hands-on Experience: The laboratory sessions provide valuable hands-on experience, enhancing understanding and retention of theoretical concepts.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Through projects and troubleshooting exercises, students develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Career Opportunities: Graduates will have an advantage in securing positions in industries ranging from manufacturing to process control, where knowledge of industrial instrumentation is essential.
The objective of this course is:
- To familiar the students with industrial instruments used in various industries.
- To acquire knowledge about various techniques used for measurement of process variables such as temperature, pressure, flow and level.
- To equip the students with the basic knowledge of industrial processes.
- To learn the construction and working of different types of temperature, pressure, flow and level transducers.
- To provide the concept of possible sources of error and possible remedies when performing measurements.
Course covered in this Laboratory:
INDUSTRIAL INSTRUMENATTION LABORATORY
- Familiarization of Different Types of Sensor.
- Pressure and Displacement Measurement by Using LVDT.
- Study of the Characteristics of a LDR.
- Study the Level Measurement using a Capacitive Transducer.
- Study the Flow Measurement using Rota meter.
