• A student project was placed third in the Birla Industrial and Technology Museum (BITM) science fair at 2013
• A student project won the championship at Paschim Banga Bigyan Mancha Science Fair at 2013
• Runners up NEN E-WEEK 2014
• A student of EE Department topped WBUT examination at 2014
• Won the Outreach & Runners up in NEN E-WEEK 2015
• Won the championship award in the engineering fair organized by BITM Museum at 2015
• Received the best innovation, best anthem award in the NEN E-WEEK 2016

Team SafeBuzz became Runners up in Smart India Hackathon at 2017

• Team SafeBuzz became champion in India Innovation Challenge Design Competition (IICDC) at 2017
• Institute participated in the IFLA 2018. In this contest one project from Electrical Department and one from Civil Engineering Department was selected among the Top Six Ideas for the Grand Finale.
• Participated in IICDC (Anchored by Texas Instruments) at 2019. Two projects of Electrical Department have reached up to the Quarterfinal level
• DIT participated in The International Space Apps Challenge. NASA is leading this global collaboration along with a number of government collaborators and over 100 local organizing teams across the globe.
• DIT participated in the National Science Day Innovation Project Exhibition at MAKAUT, Haringhata Campus in February, 2019
