ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:
During the inception of the institute in 2006 the department was established for imparting state-of-the-art education and preparation in the field of Electrical Engineering. It took a pioneering role in establishing the undergraduate program in Electrical engineering. This Department has been actively engaged in teaching and research in its field.
The department has a team of experienced faculties from eminent institutions of our country Like Indian Institute of Technology (IIT’s), National Institute of Technology (NIT’s), Calcutta University (West Bengal), Jadavpur University (West Bengal). The faculty always strives for imparting better knowledge to the students and works as a team in all departmental activities.
With an initial intake of 60 students the department has grown steadily and the present intake is 120 students for the UG programme. The department also offers a PG programme in Power Electronics and Drives with an intake of 18.
Students graduated from the department are well placed in India and abroad. Few of them have also pursued higher studies both in India and abroad. Students of the department have bagged university ranks on several occasions.
The department has state-of-the-art laboratories in the areas of Real time Electrical Machine, Power System, Circuit Theory , Power Electronics, Drive etc.
